Cambodia Commences Construction of Port Yves Palace – A New Beacon of Luxury on Koh Rong Island
The Kingdom of Wonder has officially commenced construction on Port Yves Palace, a landmark mixed-use development poised to redefine the tourism landscape of Koh Rong Island and elevate Cambodia’s standing in global leisure and hospitality.
Presiding over the groundbreaking ceremony was H.E. Say Samal, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, as well as Head of the Royal Government Working Group for Preah Sihanouk Province. Set against the pristine shores of Koh Toch Beach, in Sangkat Koh Rong Sanlem, this ambitious project is envisioned as a cornerstone for sustainable, high-end tourism within the province.
Ms. Siriwadhna Eva, Chairwoman of the project and CEO of M.B.I.S Development Co., Ltd., described Port Yves Palace as a bold strategic investment intricately aligned with Cambodia’s long-term economic aspirations. She portrayed it as a multi-functional enclave designed to pioneer a new era of integrated hospitality and leisure, reflecting modern sophistication and cultural authenticity.
The development will encompass a 150-room five-star hotel, equipped with world-class facilities and refined architectural design. Ms. Eva underlined the project’s alignment with the Royal Government’s national vision—supporting Cambodia’s transition to upper-middle-income status by 2030 and high-income status by 2050, through balanced and inclusive regional growth.
During its construction phase, Port Yves Palace will provide employment for 500 local workers, while generating around 350 permanent roles upon completion. Ms. Eva further reiterated the company’s dedication to environmental stewardship, cultural preservation, and community upliftment, extending gratitude to the Royal Government for its unwavering support.
Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal endorsed the project as a paradigm of responsible and visionary development, harmonizing with the government’s strategic blueprint for the sustainable management of Preah Sihanouk’s coastal and island ecosystems, including the 32-island archipelago that surrounds Koh Rong.
He urged continued collaboration between investors and local authorities to strengthen essential infrastructure—ensuring round-the-clock security, waste management efficiency, energy reliability, and transport connectivity vital for the island’s long-term success.
The Deputy Prime Minister linked the prosperity of Port Yves Palace to the enhancement of local livelihoods, echoing the progressive policies of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet. He reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to nurturing a stable and attractive investment environment in Preah Sihanouk, a province rapidly ascending as a nucleus for industry, tourism, and innovation.
